One of each
Bought one Civilian and one Tactical, for two students. Both are of high quality materials, very well made and well thought-out designs. I would buy them again. Great customer service -- an exchange was quick and simple. A third design might find demand,. that is the same as the Tactical, but without PALs webbing -- for the student who simply needs space. A more discrete grey rather than black velcro patch (or no patch) would better suit the grey Tactical pack for that purpose. Suggestions for future modifications: 1) for Civilian: side pockets that would fit standard Nalgene wide mouth water bottles, with drawstring cords to hold in place. Versatile. 2) for Tactical: a hydration bladder port and internal loop hanger.

Make it great
I purchased the Tactical version. As a former LE, compression straps so that I can minimize the profile during deployment, and a concealed carry compartment (front side with side zipper entry from both left or right side draw) would make this good bag a great bag.

Quality Construction and Comfortable
Beyond the armored panels, this pack has many things going for it. The material is top-grade, it is comfortable to wear, and it has many different pockets to access different items easily. I got it as a carry-on bag for flying, and it gives me easy access to my prescription sunglasses in the top felt-lined pocket, it secures my passport and credit cards in an RFID pocket, and it also accepts my 17" work laptop. Best of all, body armor can go through airline security.

Tactical backpack
Excellent quality with a number of pockets and gadgets. Both my teens love them. I bought the tactical one so they can fit all their books in it. Once they received them they thought it was going to be too big, but it fits everything perfectly. It just sucks that this is the world we live in where they ask for Bulletproof gear for birthday presents. Will purchase more for other family members.

Backpack of all backpacks!
I could go on and on about this product but I’ll try to keep it brief. You can’t put a price on the safety of someone’s life including your own. I use a backpack everyday for work and I have owned many of them in my lifetime but this is by far the best one that I’ve ever owned! It’s a high quality product that has a multi purpose which will definitely increase your chances of getting out of a life threatening situation... Alive! This is the smartest investment I’ve ever made... 2nd is my house. Sadly we live in a different world now and I highly recommend that every student should have one! In fact everyone period! Oh did I mention it has great storage too!
